Warning Signs on the Wind River Reservation
There will be outdoor warning siren testing occurring on May 5th to complete the installation of three outdoor warning sirens at Rocky Mountain Hall in Fort Washakie, at the Blue Sky Hall in Ethete, and in the vicinity of Great Plains Hall in Arapahoe. The three outdoor warning sirens were purchased by 2024 BIA Tribal Resilience funding and will be installed to provide residents with advanced all-hazard outdoor warnings. The warnings broadcast by the outdoor warning sirens will provide you with an advanced warning that an all-hazard event will be imminent, then you should move indoors to find out more information from the media or other warning methods. Plans are for a monthly test of each of the outdoor warning sirens to ensure that the siren systems are in perfect working order.
